Government of WA Media Statement

The City of Gosnells Mayor Olwen Searle was also on hand to thank Mr Murray and Mr Healy for the wonderful support of the project and to pledge the support from the City of Gosnells. Mayor Searle said along with the building of synthetic hockey pitch of international standard on the other side of the Les Sands Pavilion would make the facility one of the best sporting facilities in the state.

The Gosnells Cricket Club extends special thanks to Mick, Terry and Olwen for the much needed support of he project. Being over 10 years in the making, yesterday was one of the most significant days for the club's push for the facility.

Special thanks must also go to life members Mike Collett and Gil McDonald for their commitment to see the project through. Mike has given many hours of his professionalism as an architect in drawing the plans of a very high quality. Bruce Bussanich has also been a very important part of the steering committee. To Robbie Watkins from the City of Gosnells, what a gem in her assistance in putting together the final documents for the final tick of approval.

So, now as we continue to raise funds for the project, lets all get behind what is going to be a fantastic addition for the district. We still have a bit of money to raise so dig deep and get on board or pledge your time to the many different trades that we need to build the centre.

Once again, massive thanks to all that have donated already and to all those that have worked so hard to get this much needed facility.
